If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need, but shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

1 John 3:17

It was Nov 14, 2024 - day 48 after Helene hit the Southern Appalachian Region.

We headed down toward Swannanoa with our families and relief supplies, not really knowing who we would meet and where the supplies would go, just praying the Lord would lead us. We had shopped around and collected what seemed to be critical - food, water, first aid, meds, propane, outdoor gear, baby supplies, and Bibles. A few of our friends and family knew about our plans and they contributed donations. We thought we would be in and out, and not many people even knew what we were doing.

Then we spent four days in Black Mountain, Swannanoa, Asheville and Fairview. When we left to return to Ohio, we knew that God was calling us to go back. As more people found out, we often heard comments like, 'I had no idea Helene was that bad', and, 'I wish I knew you were going, I would like to contribute'. We felt a conviction at that time to be more of a voice, to raise awareness, and raise support, for a part of the country that was once again overlooked by the mainstream media and institutional safety nets. Though outside of our comfort zone, we started sharing what we were doing on Social Media.

Almost one year later, by God's Grace, we have delivered approximately $150,000 worth of relief supplies, construction materials/temp housing/vehicles and life saving propane to Western North Carolina, Central Texas and Eastern/Central Kentucky. We have also been able to provide help with almost 200 hours of service - debris cleanup and mechanical assistance. Plus countless hours of planning and hauling.

We are a 100% volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry incorporated in the State of Ohio, which means that we are both fiscally and operationally accountable to a board of directors and that all of the funds we receive go toward relief efforts and supplies for those impacted by disaster events.

Our Mission:

To glorify Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior by sharing the Gospel of Christ and making disciples of Jesus as commanded in the Word of God, the Holy Bible, while mobilizing the Church and the surrounding community to bring disaster relief assistance to individuals, families and communities in need.

Day 41 Faith Statement:

• The Gospel of Jesus Christ (the Gospel) is that "Christ died for our sins according the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day, according the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

• The Holy Bible is God's Word. It is inspired by God, inerrant and the ultimate authority (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21).

• Jesus is God, was with God in the beginning and became fully man, except without sin (John 1:1-2, 14).

• All people are in violation of God's righteous standard and Holy character by nature and in their acts (Romans 3:23 and 5:12). Those who die in their sins will spend eternity separated from God and face eternal torment in hell (John 16:8-9, Matthew 25:41, 2 Thessalonians 1:9), but the gift of God is eternal life to those who believe (Romans 6:23).

• All human life is precious in the sight of God from the moment of conception until the time of physical death (Psalm 139:13-14; John 3:16).

• Marriage and family are God-ordained institutions, and have been from the onset of human history. Marriage is between one man and one woman. Any other definition goes against the teaching of Scripture and is in violation of God's expressed will (Genesis 2:20b-24; Matthew 19:4).

• God created men and women as sexual beings. Sexuality is integrated into God's design for marriage and procreation. God forbids any attempt to alter one's gender. Any sexual act outside of Biblically-defined marriage in thought, word or deed is sin (Genesis 1:27- 28; Matthew 5:27-28; I Corinthians 6:9-10,18; I Thessalonians 4:3-8).

• Jesus came to earth primarily to pay the penalty and atone for man's sin through the shedding of His blood and His substitutionary death on the cross. His resurrection from the dead is proof of this accomplishment (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:3).

• God exists as a trinity, the three-in-one Godhead comprised of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Father has sent the Son as Savior of the World. (1 John 4:14-15; Galatians 4:4-5). The Holy Spirit indwells the regenerate follower of Christ, enabling each believer to live a godly life (1 Corinthians 6:19; Romans 8:9,13; Galatians 5:16).

• The gift of salvation is offered to the sinner and must be accepted by faith on the basis of the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ alone, and not by the merit of any personal works (Acts 13:38-39; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).
